The titles keep coming for Katie-George Dunlevy. She has been crowned Irish champion after taking the National Time Trial at the Irish National Championships at Kilbeggan while representing Donegal Bay Cycling Club.

The Irish international paracyclist, whose father, John is a native of Mountcharles, was only recently given a civic reception by Donegal Co Council in Donegal Town.

In Kilbeggan with regular tandem partner Linda Kelly taking part in the Elite Women's event (where she finished 2nd), Katie-George had a new partner in Alice Sharpe.

Katie-George, on her social page, expressed her delight afterwards. "Buzzing after last night's race! Delighted with the win. thanks to @alicesharpe for piloting. It was Alice's second time on the time trial tandem (first time was this morning). Some woman!"
The conditions were not great with the heaven's opening in the warm up but the pair clocked 32.22 for the 24.4km.

"I was so happy to race this year after missing last year's nationals due to injury. Proud to race for Donegal Bay Cycling Club and see so many people from the cycling community and race against seven other tandems."

Katie-George returns back home to London now for  a few days before going on a training camp to Mallorca with Linda Kelly. The main focus for the pair are the World Championships in August.
