Rhys Irwin returned to the track on Sunday afternoon for Round Seven of the British Superbikes Championship.

In the opening race of the weekend, the Kilmacrennan rider secured second place, finishing just behind Luke Stapleford.

It proved to be an especially memorable outing for Irwin, as he set a new category lap record with a time of 1:27.9, cutting four-tenths of a second off the previous best.
