Dean Gallagher in action at the Modus Super Series
Dean Gallagher remained competitive throughout his Modus Super Series debut, winning seven times throughout the week.
The talented Bridgend darts player competed at the weekly event, held in Portsmouth from Monday to Friday.
Gallagher got his first win on Monday, winning 4-1 over Dutchman Jamai van den Herik, and he picked up two 4-3 wins on Tuesday against Jereon Caron of Belgium and England’s Reece Robinson.
Another win on Wednesday over van den Herik, again winning 4-3 with a 95.10 average, before moving into Group C for the final two days to battle for a place in Saturday’s final.
And despite picking up three wins, including a last-leg decider against Alex Winspear before a 4-1 win over the same English opponent, and a 4-2 win over Robinson, he bowed out of the competition on Friday.
The Modus Super Series is a weekly tournament featuring twelve players, competing from Monday to Friday to win a place in the finals group, which is staged on Saturday evening.
The twelve players are split into three groups, with six players going into Group A, including Gallagher, and three going into Groups B & C.
Play commences in Group A on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday starting at 9:30 each day. The player who finishes first after three sessions qualifies directly for finals night on Saturday evening.
