The Donegal teenager and Raphoe Badminton Club member had a busy week in Arrecife on Lanzarote.

Raphoe Badminton Club prospect Corey Chambers bowed out of the European U17 Championships - but not after some notable outings on the court.

The Donegal teenager had a busy week in Arrecife on Lanzarote.

Chambers lost out to Clemént Massias from France 21-6 21-8 in the last 64 of the singles.

In the doubles, Chambers teamed up with Conor Blakeman and they reached the last 32.

Chambers and Blakeman defeated Israeli pair Shani Mizrahi and Yahav Sade 21-18 16-21 21-17 in the round of 64.

However, they were defeated by Johannes Lehtinen and Isak Melleri from Finland 17-21 21-18 14-21.

In the team phase, Chambers had some useful games.

Chambers and Amira Pender won a mixed doubles match on day one against England. Chambers and Pender won 21-16 21-16 against George Clare and Mia Fox.

However, England won the day 4-1.

Chambers teamed up with Blakeman for a doubles clash against Peter Bnza and Matyaa Puffr from Czechia.

Chambers and Blakeman won the first game 21-14 but were eventually beaten after the Czechia duo won the next two 21-8 21-11 with Czechia winning 3-2.

Chambers defeated Luxembourg’s Shourya Kodapala 21-12 21-19 in a singles game on day three.

Ireland had the better of Luxembourg 5-0 in what was their final group outing.
