Corey Chambers and Emily Maxwell picked up medals in Waterford

Corey Chambers won two gold medals in badminton doubles events at the U19 Munster Open at the weekend, while Emily Maxwell picked up a bronze medal.

At the SETU Arena in Waterford, Raphoe Badminton ace Chambers teamed up with Conor Blakeman in the Boys Doubles as they won in straight sets in both the semi-finals and final.

The pair beat Luke Marks and Charan Deep Rajulapati 21-18, 21-16 in the semi-finals, before defeating Dylan Keane and Lorcan McGrane 21-10, 21-18 in the decider.

Chambers backed that up with a win in the Mixed Doubles along with Amira Pender.

Chambers and Pender came through a tough semi-final against Jeffrey Rong and Rasa Norvaisaite by 21-18, 18-21, 12-21.

They were more comfortable in their final win over Aiden Biju Joy and Danica Ferrao, winning 21-8, 21-14.

In the Girls U19 Doubles, Maxwell won bronze along with Ella Cheung, as the pair lost out in the semi-finals to Anna Lucey O' Sullivan and Yuna Luque Sakka by 13-21, 21-18, 15-21.
