The Finn Valley AC woman took her team to silver with an outstanding performance to lead the way.
The mother-of-two won in 14 minutes and two seconds at the QUB Playing Fields in Belfast. Doherty will certainly be encouraged by her winning display.

Finn Valley were beaten to the team gold by Newcastle and District, whose lead runner and former Olympian Kerry O’Flaherty was second, six seconds behind Doherty.
Rosses AC’s Helen McCready was fifth overall and her club colleague Fionnuala Diver was 12th overall.
Finn Valley took team silver with Kay Byrne in 32nd.
In the masters men, Dermot McElchar of Finn Valley AC was the leading Donegal competitor, finishing eighth with Finn Valley AC’s John McElhill in 17th.
Inishowen AC came fourth in the team event, led by the evergreen Pauric McKinney in 12th. David Porter (32nd), Liam Bradley (34th) and Martin McLucas (41st) followed in behind.
Donal Farren of Letterkenny AC was fourth in the intermediate men’s race.
Finn Valley were sixth team with Barry Gallagher (36th) and Peter McMenamin (60th) also scoring.
