Sommer Lecky was fourth in France
Sommer Lecky was fourth in the women’s high jump at an international meeting in France on Saturday.
The Finn Valley AC high jumper was competing at the Meeting Elite Nantes Métropole, held in the Stadium Pierre-Quinon in Nantes,
Lecky had a best of 1.78m having also cleared the bar at 1.68m and 1.73m.
The former World U20 silver and Commonwealth Youth gold medalist was unable to get over the 1.83m mark.
Lecky has had an encouraging start to 2022 having won gold at the Scottish Indoor Championships last weekend.
Her Finn Valley AC colleague Mark English had to withdraw from the men’s 800m at the Millrose Games in New York on Saturday night.
English was all set to line up among a top-class field at The Armory, but a hamstring injury in the warm-up prevented the three-time European medalist from going under starter’s orders.
