Jason Quigley will return to the sporting stage later this month when he takes on a five-time world champion.
The Ballybofey boxer will be changing codes for a night, however.
Quigley will take on darts legend Raymond van Barneveld on Sunday, February 27.
The exhibition match takes place at Rosie Joe’s in Derry with Dutch icon ‘Barney’ facing 20 challengers on the night.
Darts enthusiast Quigley, who rates van Barneveld as his favourite thrower, will take on the 54-year-old, who was the BDO world champion in 1998, 1999, 2003 and 2005 and the PDC world champion in 2007.
Quigley is resting up following surgery on the broken jaw he sustained in his WBO world middleweight title defeat to Demetrius Andrade in November.
The 30-year-old, whose best darts average is 77, has been using some of his spare time to hone is skills on the oche.
As a nine-year-old, Quigley got the chance to play one of the world’s top darts players when he lined up with Dennis Priestly in Laghey.
