Letterkenny cyclist wins Derrymacash GP

Paul Doherty celebrates winning in Lurgan on Saturday.

Letterkenny cyclist Paul Doherty won the Derrymacash GP in Lurgan on Saturday.

Doherty, who rides with Four Masters Cycling Club, turned in a dominant performance.

The Donegal man pulled away and staved off Conor Grimes to win.

Doherty got off in a solo breakaway and claimed an excellent win.

The race, eight laps of a circuit of 5.67 miles, was for A4 and A4 cyclists and Doherty’s win now elevates him to A2 status.
