Seventh heaven: National delight for Three Rivers

The Lifford-based Three Rivers Shotokan Karate Club had a superb weekend at the ONAKAI Irish National Championships.

All seven Three Rivers competitors returned to Donegal with medals from the Championships, which were held in Dublin.

Three Rivers trio Emma Dolan, Natasha Doherty and Lauren Wallace were all crowned national champions in their respective categories.

Silver medals were won by Caoimhe Dolan, Ethan Doherty and Thia Hannigan.

Three Rivers’ success continued with Brodie Hannigan collecting a bronze medal.

This was the first major event held since Covid and Three Rivers, the only Donegal club linked to the national governing body, is aiming big in 2022.
