Donegal boxers set for Senior Cadet action in Dublin

Donegal boxers have learned their fate for the 2022 National Senior Cadet Championships.

Donegal is well represented throughout the various divisions with the action gloving off on Friday night at the National Stadium.

Illies Golden Gloves’ Rory McDaid gets the Donegal punchers underway.

On Friday night, McDaid squares up to Christopher Stapleton from the Phoenix Boxing Club in Dublin.

The 54kgs preliminary round contest is the seventh bout on a busy night.

Ryley Doherty of Raphoe Boxing Club meets Nathan McDaid from St Pappins at 57kgs.

On Saturday, Twin Towns’ Joey O’Hara takes on James Heaphy of Leeside Lodge in a preliminary round contest at 80kgs.

On the same evening, Raphoe’s Rian Patton jousts with Rathoath’s Daniel Philips in a 48kgs quarter-final.

Ballybofey man Sean Devenney, boxing out of the Oakleaf ABC in Derry, has been paired with Bobby Shea McNulty from Rathfirland in a 57kgs quarter-final, pencilled in for Saturday.

On Sunday, Lani Lafferty of Twin Towns faces Rachel O’Connor from Tredagh in a 66kgs quarter-final.
