Results: McGonagle wins Glenmore 10 Mile as McGuigan clocks PB to win women’s race

Letterkenny AC’s Ciaran McGonagle was the winner of the Glenmore 10 Mile on Sunday morning.

McGonagle came home in 54 minutes and 43 seconds to win the Finn Valley AC hosted event.

His club colleague, Philip McHugh, was second in 55:00 with Marty Lynch in third, finishing in 55:43.

Lifford-Strabane AC’s Clare McGuigan clocked a new personal best of 58:49 to win the women’s race from Finn Valley AC’s Teresa Doherty, who crossed the line in 1:03:06.

The Glenmore 10 Mile was sponsored by Anne Marie McGeehan of Rite Financial Solutions.

This was the sixth staging of a race first held in February 2017.

The 2020 version took place just before Ireland went into a Covid-19 lockdown, while the 2021 staging took place last July, as part of Finn Valley AC’s Golden Jubilee Series of races.
