In Pictures: Fanastic turnout at colourful and exciting Donegal Town parade

Local schools had some fantastic themes adding colour and fun to the day

There was a fantastic carnival atmosphere at the St Patrick's Day parade in Donegal with schools, bands, community organisations, sports clubs and businesses taking part. Photographer Siobhan McGowan was out and about capturing the day's festivities.

A particular mention must go to the schools who all made an exceptional effort and really contributed to the colour and excitement on the day.

Dignitaries included Cathaoirleach of Donegal MD, Cllr Niamh Kennedy, Cllr Noel Jordan, Cllr Tom Conaghan, Mayor of Donegal Town Pauric Kennedy, Superintendent Karen Duffy, and members of the clergy, Ven. David Huss and Fr James Gillespie.

The category winners were:
Best Dressed Window: Begley's Pharmacy
Overall Float Winner: St Eunan's NS
Best Community Float: Scoil an Linbh Íosa
Best Band: Moyne Band
