Gallery: Tír Chonaill Stone Festival photography Exhibition launch

Event took place at Abbey Arts Centre in Ballyshannon on Thursday night while Festival runs today and tomorrow in Donegal Town

Louise Price, one of the organisers addresses the gathering in The Abbey Centre Ballyshannon at the Tirchonaill Stone Festival Photography Exhibition Launch on Thursday evening. The Tír Chonaill Stone Festival 2023 itself is taking place in Donegal Town today and tomorrow (June 24 &25).

The festival is Keeping traditional stone crafts alive in the community, with the annual event a celebration of Dry Stone Walling and Stone Carving.

Set in charming Donegal Town, the workshops taking place are designed to give participants hands-on experience and confidence in working with stone. If you are a beginner or someone who already has skill, this Festival brings people together for a practical and friendly weekend where everyone shares their love for stone.​

Led by experts with many years of experience in stone work and in passing on their skills, participants are trained in the basic principles of their chosen craft.
