A stone sculpture was commissioned by Gearoid Sweeney in memory of the O’Donnell and Coll families who formerly owned the land on which the new school extension is located.

Maureen Harker, a relative who is currently residing in America donated $2000 earlier in the year for the upkeep of the Art room and the school gardens in the vicinity of the school.

As a mark of appreciation and respect for this goodwill gesture, the sculpture was also unveiled on the day.

Music was provided by Mairead Mí Mhaonaigh in conjunction with the folk music duo Brian and Diarmuid Mac Gloinn from ‘Ye Vagabonds’ with contributions also from the local Choir.

Refreshments were also provided to guests during the course of the afternoon.
