Joshua Nueva with his print of Murder Hole Beach called 'Land and Sea'
Murder Hole Beach has been captured in print in all of its glory.
Joshua Nueva, based in Westport, Co Mayo, is a content creator and filmmaker who enjoys everything to do with the outdoors - hikes, camping, observing wildlife and, in particular, marine life. He's made good use of his trips to Donegal.
The Irish Independent named Murder Hole Beach as their number one hidden beach in Ireland back in 2019. Near Downings on the Rosguill Peninsula, it is one of Donegal’s best-kept secrets.
Joshua originally took 'Land and Sea' there in 2021, but recaptured it at the start of his wild Atlantic way trip back at the end of May this year, battling a stiff breeze with his drone and just a 90-minute window of sun to capture the shot.

"I used my drone to capture a top-down image of Murder Hole Beach and instantly noticed the vivid orange colours of the sand on the beach and the green/turquoise of the sea," Joshua tells DonegalLive.
"I waited there for a little while to get the right size of waves to crash onto the beach to get the whitewash of the waves which separated the green and orange colours, creating the Irish flag using the natural elements of an Irish beach. This isn’t the only place you can do this type of photo, there are plenty of orange sand beaches and green waters around the country, but I happened to capture this there!"
The print, along with many more from Joshua's portfolio, is available to purchase on his website JoshuaNueva.
"I create what I like to call ‘short films’ of my experiences through my professional camera gear and storytelling to bring my experiences to people in an engaging format," Joshua continues. "I pretty much wander around every nook and cranny our island has to offer and share all of those experiences with others online so they too can experience it, either at home on their phone, or to physically get out into nature too."
