In pictures: Huge crowd turns out for Portsalon racing in aid of  Donegal Hospice

There was a huge crowd in attendance for the eight-race card meeting in Portsalon in aid of the Donegal Hospice, organised by the Portsalon Horse Racing committee.

A spokesperson for the committee said: “Thanks to the team of Volunteers who made the event run very smoothly and to all the Horse Owners and Jockeys for providing an excellent evening’s racing.

“Thank you to Eamon Friel for the use of his land and for all his help, Adrian and Let’s Eat Catering for providing refreshments on site and the Ice cream van for attending. A special mention to Watson Hire for their excellent help and service, thanks to the ambulance personnel and to Collie for his excellent commentating as usual and to the bookies also for being in attendance.

“Thanks to Brownes printers for all their help In printing our Race book for the meeting and to CBM signs for sponsoring signs for the event.

“A special thanks to all our sponsors because without their support this event would not have been possible.

“A big thank you to our past jockeys who sponsored the last two races of the evening. It's lovely to see  these jockeys did not forget where it all began for them. A final update on the final figure raised will be announced in the coming weeks.”
