The event was very well attended, bringing together members, speakers, and supporters for an informative and inspiring day.
The conference featured a diverse range of expert speakers who delivered excellent talks on topics including exercise, medication, falls prevention, safety tips, and advice from a Citizens Advice Officer.
Shane O’Brien, CEO of Parkinson’s Ireland, addressed members and provided an insightful overview of the ongoing work at national level. He highlighted the organisation’s key achievements, recent progress, and the many ways Parkinson’s Ireland supports people living with Parkinson’s Disease and their families.
A key message that resonated throughout the day was the importance of exercise in managing Parkinson’s: “A good today means a better tomorrow.”
The conference also hosted a variety of organisations with exhibition stands offering valuable advice and support. Among them were Westcare Homecare, Alone, Solace Café, Garda Síochána, Care Direct, Mobile Medical Diagnostics, and Sligo PPN. We are deeply grateful for their participation and ongoing partnership.
Adding a special touch to the event, the Sligo Choir delighted attendees with beautiful performances during the lunch break.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all speakers, exhibitors, attendees, and the organising committee for their hard work and contribution in making this year’s Educational Conference such a great success,” event organisers said.
