Allingham Arms Hotel seeks extension for fitness suite and children play area facilities

Planning permission has been sought from Donegal County Council for an extension to facilitate a fitness suite and children’s play area at Bundoran’s Allingham Arms Hotel.

The listed applicant, McEniffs (Bundoran) Limited, has submitted an application for the construction of a new two-storey extension to the rear of the existing hotel building.

Proposals are for the ground floor to consist of ancillary spa facilities, fitness suite, reception, toilets and storage; and the first floor to consist of an ancillary children's play area, supervision area, toilets and storage.

Plans include all associated site works, including connection to existing services and ancillary infrastructural developments necessary to complete the project.

The four-star Allingham Arms Hotel is a major feature of Bundoran’s tourism economy, having operated as a hotel since May 1991, becoming known as “The Capital of Country Music.”

There is a capacity of 132 bedrooms at the hotel, which can host conferences or events for up to 400 people.

Donegal County Council has yet to announce a decision due date for the submitted planning application.
