The 65-bedroom hotel in the Rosses is located along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way
The Waterfront Hotel is on the market, being offered for sale by Savills and TDL Horizon, at €4.9 million.
The Waterfront is a prime trading hotel overlooking Dungloe Bay with 49 newly refurbished en-suite bedrooms and 16 spacious suites which will be completed under new ownership, a large bar and restaurant with views of the Atlantic, a spacious function room, Inis Fitness Gym and extensive grounds with on-site parking and playground.
The Waterfront hotel benefits from very significant recent capital expenditure and offers growth potential with an opportunity to complete spa works.
Dungloe is the largest village in The Rosses, a scenic area known for its rugged coastline, lakes, and islands including Árainn Mhór and Toraigh. The annual Mary from Dungloe International Arts Festival attracts a wide range of visitors from Ireland and abroad. The hotel is only 13km from Donegal Airport (voted Most Scenic Airport in the World), which operates direct flights to Dublin and Glasgow.
Niamh Walsh of TDL Horizons, who is from Donegal and is very familiar with the area commented: “The Waterfront Hotel is a standout property along the Wild Atlantic Way and represents a rare opportunity to acquire a successful trading hotel in one of Donegal’s most picturesque coastal towns. Located in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht, the hotel offers a rich cultural immersion in Irish language, music, and traditions, with easy access to nearby islands of Árainn Mhór and Toraigh. The hotel has clear scope for further development and is ideally positioned for future growth under new ownership.”
Tom Barrett, Director of Hotels at Savills, commented: "A modern, newly refurbished hotel with a large extension ready to furnish and open which presents huge opportunities for a new owner to capitalise on previous investment.”
