Some of the players from Monday's match between Errigal College and St Eunan's College
Errigal College reached a significant milestone on Monday as they took to the rugby pitch for the first time in their history.
The landmark occasion unfolded at Dave Gallaher Park, where they faced off against St Eunan’s College in what was an exciting and hard-fought contest.
Despite many of the Errigal players having never played rugby before, they put in an impressive performance, crossing the try line four times and successfully converting three of their efforts.

While St Eunan’s ultimately secured the victory, the commitment, enthusiasm, and skill displayed by Errigal College were remarkable.
The match would not have been possible without the dedication of the teachers and coaches who worked tirelessly to organise the event. A special thanks was also extended to the local rugby club, which provided essential equipment such as bibs, cones, tackle shields, and balls to help get the team up and running.
Letterkenny RFC, which hosted the historic fixture, expressed their delight at welcoming Errigal College to the sport and hoped the players enjoyed their first taste of rugby.
