Conor Tourish has turned down a new contract at Finn Harps – and has returned to Letterkenny Rovers in the Ulster Senior League.

New Harps boss Dave Rogers was keen to keep hold of Tourish, but the 27-year-old has decided against another season at Finn Park.

Donegal Live can confirm that Tourish has put pen to paper at Rovers and could be in the white and black for Saturday evening's Ulster Senior Cup clash away to derby rivals Bonagee United.

Tourish has a young family and also works full-time, both prohibitive to the arduous travel schedule facing Harps, who will play in the First Division this year following their relegation.

In 2022, Tourish made 26 appearances for Harps in all competitions, scoring five goals in the Premier Division.

Last January, Tourish was recruited to Harps by then manager Ollie Horgan from Letterkenny Rovers.

His return to Leckview Park will be a big boost to Danny McConnell's Rovers.

Previously, he spent five seasons on the books of Derry City, but his time at the Candystripes ended up beset by injury.

In March 2019, Tourish was one of the nominees for the FAI’s Intermediate Player of the Year while he has represented the Republic of Ireland at amateur and under-18 levels.

Ryan McConnell has departed Letterkenny Rovers, signing for Donegal League side Lagan Harps.

Also coming in at Rovers is Tony Duffy, a younger brother of Republic of Ireland defender Shane Duffy who is expected to line out for the club's Donegal League team.
