Jodie Loughrey has joined her older sister Keri in signing with Sligo Rovers.
The 16-year-old midfielder, the Republic of Ireland Under-16 player of the year in 2022, will be a part of Sligo's senior squad in the Women's National League.
“I am really excited to be joining the club today,” said Loughrey.
“I am looking forward to being involved in the squad as we play in the Women’s Premier Division this season, which was a big attraction for me.
“I want to improve as a player and develop and I feel I will be able to do that here at Sligo Rovers.
“I am really enjoying training so far and can’t wait to get going.”
The Scoil Mhuire, Buncrana student is an Irish international at both under-16 and under-17 levels.
Loughrey was part of the Bit O’ Red side in Saturday’s friendly against Athlone Town at The Sean Fallon Centre.
Sligo manager Steve Feeney said: “Jodie is a top talent and another player we have been keen to get in here at Sligo Rovers.
“She will add a different dimension to our attack and we are all really excited to watch her this year.
“Jodie and her sister are key signings for us and it’s important that we attract players from the Northwest region as a whole, being the only club in the region to have a side playing in the Women’s Premier Division.”
