Finn Harps manager Dave Rogers will miss this evening’s game against Athlone Town after falling ill.

Rogers’ assistant manager, Darren Murphy, will take charge of the team for the game at Finn Park.

“Harps boss Dave Rogers will not be in attendance after taking ill overnight and is resting up,” Harps said.

“Darren Murphy will take the reins.

“Get well soon Gaffer.”

Rogers said he was 'gutted' to miss the game, saying on Twitter: "Unfortunately a vomiting bug has taken its toll on me since late last night so I am gutted to be watching from my home around the corner."

In team news, Harps are without Caoimhin Porter and Keith Cowan through injury.

Porter was carried off during the second half on Friday night after shipping a nasty challenge.

Captain Cowan who, like Porter, had just returned to the starting line-up, is also forced to miss out tonight.

A win against Athlone would see Harps leapfrog the Midlanders and go fourth in the table.
