Donegal teenager Tiernan McGinty marked his Derry City debut with a late goal.
McGinty came off the bench to seal a 2-0 win for the Candystripes against Cork City at the Brandywell on Friday night.
The 17-year-old replaced Jordan McEneff in the 84th minute and he tucked home a memorable goal in the final minute. McGinty finished from close range after Ben Doherty did the spadework.
Jamie McGonigle had opened the scoring with a header late in the first half as Derry moved to within four points of Premier Division leaders Shamrock Rovers.
Last August, McGinty signed a pro contract at Derry having moved to the Foylesiders from Finn Harps in early 2022.
McGinty, who is from Falcarragh, played schoolboys football at Glenea United while Drumkeen native Patton came through the ranks at Drumkeen United before joining Harps.
Ramelton man Ronan Boyce played the full 90 minutes while St Johnston native Ciaran Coll came on as a substitute in the 77th minute.
