Glencolmcille goalkeeper Shane O’Gara has been added to the large Donegal contingent at NIFL Championship side Dergview.

Tommy Canning has drafted in O’Gara ahead of Saturday’s Championship-opener which sees Dergview welcome Portadown to Darragh Park.

Earlier this week, Dergview signed former Finn Harps captain Keith Cowan, just 24 hours after his departure from Finn Park was announced.

O’Gara was on the books of Harps at underage level and has also featured with the likes of St Catherine’s, Letterkenny Rovers and Buncrana Hearts. Last season, he was with Keadue Rovers in the Donegal League.

A member of An Garda Siochana, O’Gara also plays Gaelic football for his native Naomh Columba.

Dergview have also signed former St Catherine’s, Bonagee United and Finn Harps youngster Josh Maxwell this week.

Earlier in the summer, Jack Parke, Conor Black, Stephen Black and Gareth Harkin were brought in from Bonagee United.

Dungloe’s Paddy McGarvey, Keenan Diver from Killea and Manor’s Tiernan Brown are also on the Dergview roster as are former Harps players Niall McGinley and Jamie Browne.
