Amber Barrett's hat-trick helped Standard Liège to an 8-1 win on Saturday
Amber Barrett was in scintillating form on Saturday as she scored three in Standard Liège's 8-1 victory over Mechelen in the Belgian Women's Super League.
Barrett, a native of Milford, opened the scoring on 10 minutes and then a minute before half-time added her team's third to make it 3-0 at the break. She grabbed her third two minutes from the end for a 7-1 lead. Noemie Gelders got on the scoresheet twice, with Wlema Fon, Abdulai Toloba and Gisele de Win also on the mark.
The win means that after 11 matches, Standard are in second place in the top-flight on 25 points, three points behind leaders Leuven and four in front of RSC Anderlecht, who are in third.
