Fintan Doherty signs for Institute from Derry City

On the day of his 19th birthday, Institute confirmed the addition of Letterkenny-born goalkeeper Fintan Doherty from Derry City

Fintan Doherty has left Derry City and signed for Institute.

The transfer of the Letterkenny man was confirmed by Institute on his 19th birthday.

Doherty is a Republic of Ireland underage international who came up through the ranks at Bonagee United.

Doherty has played at Derry City in the underage League of Ireland and also the now-defunct Ulster Senior League.

Previously, Doherty was on the books at Finn Harps before making the switch to Derry City in June, 2021.

The Kevin Deery-managed ‘Stute are second in the Championship standings, two points behind leaders Dundela, who have two games in hand.
