Legendary Republic of Ireland kitman Charlie O’Leary turned 100 this week and Donegal’s own Italia ‘90 hero Packie Bonner dropped by to personally wish him a very happy birthday.

O'Leary was by Jack Charlton's side as Ireland famously qualified for major tournaments like Euro ‘88 and World Cup tournaments Italia 90 and USA ‘94.

Bonner starred in all three of those memorable summers and sharing a photograph on X, former Twitter, on Friday, the former Glasgow Celtic goalkeeper said: “The great man Charlie O’Leary. I was delighted to drop in and wish him a happy 100th birthday and also reminisce about the great times. Thanks for all you did for us”.
