Alison Mbuli and the Cappry Rovers U12s and (inset) Mark Mbuli after scoring the winner for Finn Harps
A day after Mark Mbuli scored a dramatic debut winner for Finn Harps his younger sister Alison Mbuli was the heroine for Cappry Rovers.
Mbuli struck the match-winning goal to fire the Cappry Rovers Under-12 girls into the quarter-finals of the SFAI Cup.
Mbuli struck the only goal of the game against Stepaside FC. Drawn away from home, Ulster regional winners Cappry made light of the testing pairing to come away with a historic win.
The 1-0 win over the MGL Premier League outfit secured Cappry's place in the last eight.
Mbuli was the goalscorer and was aided by fine performances from the likes of Molly Gallagher, Neasa Foy, Dervla McNulty and Sinead McMenamin.
In the last round, McMenamin and Gallagher scored in a 2-0 win over Kilnamanagh while Mbuli netted one of the goals in the 4-0 Ulster regional final win over Cootehill Harps with Gallagher (2) and McNulty also on the mark.
Mbuli's heroics came less than 24 hours after her brother Mark marked a memorable first Harps appearance with a last-gasp winner in Longford.
Trailing 2-0 at Bishopsgate, Harps fought back with Success Edogun and Jamie Watson drawing level and teeing up the late drama.
In the 91st minute, Ballybofey man Mbuli - a recent signing from Institute having previously played for Harps at underage level - headed home at the back post. He replaced the injured Aaron McLaughlin in the 21st minute.
