Finn Harps goalkeeper Tim-Oliver Hiemer will have some extra attention over the coming weeks with a German company travelling to Donegal to focus on the Donegal based ’keeper for an upcoming documentary.

Hiemer, who was originally sponsored by Nike, has since joined Gripmode, and to promote the company’s new goalkeeping gloves, they wish to focus on the Finn Harps player over the springtime where he will regularly feature on their social media platforms.

“It’s the goalkeeping glove company that I’m sponsored by who is coming here,” Hiemer told DonegalLive. “I was with Nike for years, but I eventually moved over to this company because I have known the owner, Michael Bolvin, for a long time.

“Michael is massive on social media and when he saw our pre-season trip to Arranmore he decided that he wanted to come and see me and make a video blog and follow me around for a bit.

“It’s going to be great to try and promote the new goalkeeping gloves and I’m really looking forward to it.

“It’s nice to get them over here, not to just highlight the gloves, but to highlight the great work being done in our club by everyone involved.”

While there is no official date set yet, Hiemer believes they will be coming to Ireland between March and April. The plan is to organise a photoshoot in Arranmore, before focusing on the Finn harps club and life with the Ballybofey team.

“We’ll be planning to go back to Arranmore for a photoshoot when the local team is playing, that’s usually on a Saturday,” said Hiemer.

“I think those videos will be for Michael’s channel, and then they will be planning to stay and watch one of our matches in Finn Park and film the documentary from there.

“Obviously, the documentary will be focused on the goalkeeping role but it’s really important to note that they will be looking at the rest of the club and all the hard work the other members do there.

“The club is really buzzing at the minute after the Longford Town game. The support that night was great, especially from all our travelling fans, but I think everyone is even more excited to keep the positive start going and deliver a performance in Finn Park.”
