Finn Harps manager Darren Murphy has recruited highly-rated strength and conditioning coach Gary Wallace to his backroom team.
Omagh native Wallace has worked at every level with Northern Ireland, including the senior men's team. Wallace was brought into the senior ranks by then manager Ian Baraclough in 2020.
Wallace was on the Harps bench for Friday's 1-1 draw with Cork City at Finn Park.
Murphy was well acquainted with Wallace during his own time working as the Elite UEFA Academy Coach and Elite Performance Coach.
“Gary brings a wealth of knowledge,” Murphy told Donegal Live.
“It's something I thought that the players needed. Rest and recovery in the First Division, with the travel, is hugely important.
“I have known Gary Wallace for a long time through my time in the IFA. Gary has worked at every level, right up to seniors.
“A strength and conditioning coach, and one of Gary's stature and calibre, is like signing a really good player. They are worth their weight in gold”
Wallace will work closely with physio Nichola Ayres and analyst Eoin Loguie.
Murphy said: “The team I have, young Eoin is learning his trade and Nichola, I am really happy with the strength and conditioning and the medal team.
“We have lost players recently, but the squad has been able to stand up to that.”
