Mark Coyle with his award
Mark Coyle has led Shelbourne to the top of the League of Ireland Premier Division and, in the process, picked up the season’s first Player of the Month award.
Still the Burt native and former Finn Harps midfield general isn’t getting too carried away just yet.
"No, it's early days and once you start doing that, you lose the run of yourself but we're happy with how it's going," said Coyle, who has Irish legend Damien Duff as boss.
“It's one of the most competitive leagues in the world, you could say. I know that sounds mad, but it is.
“You have to be on it every week and that's why you can't get too far ahead of yourself or think too far into the future.
“I don't think there are any easy games in this league and you can see that with the results from the first four rounds of games.
“Anybody can beat anybody and you don't know how it's going to go. What matters is the here and now and tonight we have Bohs at Dalymount and we have to be ready.
“We haven't beaten Bohs at Dalymount since I've been here, and the gaffer has been here. It's an exciting game.
“They’re a really tough team to play against, especially at Dalymount with their fans. It's not going to be an easy challenge.”
