Ulster went down 5-1 to Munster in Friday night’s opening Regional Cup clash in Ballisodare, Sligo.
Stephen McConnell’s side, full of Inishowen and Donegal League stars, went behind as early as the seventh minute when Eoin Murphy netted.
On 24 minutes Munster doubled their advantage through Adam Delurey while into added time at the end of the first-half Ulster pulled one back when Adam Crowley turned the ball into his own net.
Still, Munster again found a two-goal cushion at the start of the second period when the impressive Murphy grabbed his second. Ten minutes from the end Jimmy Carr made it 4-1 while in stoppage time, Nathan Broderick grabbed the fifth and final goal.
Ulster are back in action this afternoon, Saturday, when they take on Leinster at MacSharry Park.
