FAI Junior Cup finalists Cockhill Celtic will face Leinster side Ayrfield United at home in the FAI Senior Cup first round this season.

The 20 clubs that featured in the Sports Direct Men's FAI Cup First Round draw consisted of the last 16 teams from the 2023/24 FAI Intermediate Cup and the final four clubs from the 2023/24 FAI Junior Cup which included Cockhill Celtic.

League of Ireland clubs will then enter the competition in the second round of the competition.

The first-round ties will be played on Sunday May 19.

The Inishowen side is currently preparing for their FAI Junior Cup final following their 1-0 win over Pike Rovers two weeks ago, the first Donegal side to be in the final of this competition, and they will be hoping to place their hands on some national silverware following their penalty shootout defeat to Rockmount last year.

The Inishowen team are currently top of the Jackie Crossan Premier Division on 42 points, six behind second-place Buncrana Hearts, and with only one more point needed to win the league, Gavin Cullen’s side will be hoping that they can keep their undefeated streak going and win the title this weekend when they face Greencastle FC.

The first-round draw is as follows:

Cockhill Celtic v Ayrfield United
College Corinthians v Cobh Wanderers
Wayside Celtic v Collinstown
Pike Rovers v Villa
Midleton v St Francis
Wilton United v Glebe North
Ballyfermot United v Rockmount
Maynooth University Town v Gorey Rangers
Byes: Carrigaline United, Ringmahon Rangers, Leeds, Kilbarrack United
