Anna Patten in action for the Republic of Ireland last month against England
The Republic of Ireland Women’s National team for the UEFA EURO 2025 qualifiers which was announced today features a notable representation from Donegal.
After opening the Group A3 campaign with 1-0 defeats to France and England, the Girls in Green host Sweden at Lansdowne Road on Friday May 31, before they travel to Stockholm for the return leg on Tuesday June 4.
Included in the squad from Donegal are Amber Barrett, Tyler Toland, and Erin McLaughlin, along with Anna Patten, who qualifies to play for Ireland through her grandfather from Falcarragh.
Patten was called up to the squad by Eileen Gleeson back in March after the defender had played every game for Aston Villa in the Women’s Super League.
Elsewhere in the squad announcement, it has been confirmed that both Niamh Fahey and Heather Payne are unavailable for this squad due to Achilles injuries, while Chloe Mustaki, Tara O'Hanlon and Jamie Finn are continuing their recovery from long-term injuries.
Preparations for the qualifiers will commence at the FAI National Training Centre starting May 27.
