The Ireland Down Syndrome Futsal team
Three Donegal players helped the Ireland Down Syndrome Futsal team scored a big win over the United States.
Hughie Sweeney scored a hat-trick – including a goal after just six SECONDS - while Daniel O'Reilly and David Crawford lined out for the 11-2 win over the US in Gormanston, Meath.
Gweedore native Sweeney, O'Reilly from Letterkenny and Crawford, who hails from Donegal were all part of the Ireland team, managed by Paul Smyth, that took part in the European Championships last year in Italy.
All three are listed as being attached to Finn Harps.
Sweeney scored just after kick-off and he added a second-half brace to complete his hat-trick with Crawford making two fine saves from Brighton Ditter in the second half while O'Reilly also featured in a prominent role.
Cork City's Cian Kelleher scored four times while Kiegan Taylor of Oxford Bulls netted twice and Shane Toolin (Cork City) and Fergus Cosgrave (Bohemians) also scored.
