Strabane Athletic celebrate their win

There was a firm Donegal contingent involved on Friday night as Strabane Athletic captured the Ballymena and Provincial Intermediate League title.

Strabane overcame Ballymoney United 3-1 in the BPIL play-off and will now face Oxford Sunnyside to see who makes the jump up to the Premier Intermediate League.

Former Finn Harps midfielder Raymond Foy, who hails from Castlefin, is the Strabane Athletic manager and he is aided by former Harps caretaker manager and player Sean 'Wizard' McGowan from Ballybofey.

Donegal trio Aaron O'Hagan (Castlefin), Declan Sharkey (Newtowncunningham) and Simon McGlynn (Raphoe) were on the score sheet.

Milford man Gary Merritt, Ballybofey's Jamie Murray and former Cockhill Celtic player Bradley Callaghan were also included while Darren McMonagle from Burnfoot was among the substitutes.
