Colin Mooney was part of the Sligo Rovers squad on Friday evening that went away to Waterford FC in the SSE Premier Division. 

The former St Catherine’s man has been in excellent form with The Bit O’ Reds’ U-20s and that no doubt prompted senior boss John Russell to promote the talented Killybegs player. 

It wasn’t a good night for Rovers though as they went down 4-1 at the RSC.  Two goals from former Showgrounds favourite Pagraig Among as well as strikes from Ben McCormick and Connor Parsons gave the home side an emphatic victory. Wilson Waweru netted the consolation for the visitors.
