Galway United, trailing Shelbourne by two points but with a game in hand, faced a significant opportunity to bolster their title aspirations. However, Phil Trill's side couldn't capitalise, as the hosts leveraged their experience to carve out this important win.
The decisive moment arrived in the 51st minute when McLaughlin delivered a superb strike from inside the box, sealing the victory for Shelbourne.
McLaughlin rejoined Shelbourne in the Women’s National League back in January after completing a season with Fortuna Hjorring in the Danish top-tier league
