Kilmacrenan Celtic FC has announced that Gérard "Zola" McGranaghan will return to the sideline as the club's manager for the incoming 2024/25 season having last managed the side in 2023.

The Lurgy side finished fifth last season on 28 points having won eight out of 18 games in the Premier Division and will be hoping to hit the ground running as early as possible.

During McGranaghan's previous tenure as player-manager, he guided Kilmacrennan to one Premier Division title in 2022 as well as the club's first Brian McCormack Cup in 2023 and is relishing the opportunity to take on the county's big guns again.

Taking to social media this evening, the Kilmacrennan club welcomed McGranaghan back to the senior setup by saying: "With a ferocious league campaign anticipated this season, McGranaghan is well aware of the challenge that lies ahead of him and his charges, and he will be appointing his backroom team in the coming days.

"Everyone at the club wishes Gérard and his team the very best of luck for a successful season ahead."
