A new chapter was penned in the proud history of Bonagee United FC on June 19 with the first competitive game played at Old Foundry Park.
Bonagee United U12s marked the occasion in style with a superb 7-1 win over Mulroy Academy.

Doherty and Oisin McGee bagged hat-tricks and Brian Ferry was also on the mark to christen the new facility in fine fashion.
Old Foundry Park is a nine-acre site at Knockbrack, which was secured by Bonagee United from the O’Donnell family in 2020.
“With over 300 players registered at the club, Bonagee United felt we needed a new base,” Bonagee United Chairman Niall Callaghan said.
“The new facility at Old Foundry Park compliments our existing pitches at Dry Arch Park and Goose Green.
“The club is growing all the time and we have to make sure we are in a position to cater for all of our numbers.”
While Old Foundry Park was initially planned as a training facility, the venue, at which changing rooms have been added, will now host some underage game.
Mr Callaghan said: “Bonagee is fortunate to have a dedicated, hard-working committee whose efforts have all allowed us obtain our new facility and our grounds team, led by Laurence Gildea, has brought it up to playing standard.
“This development will help us to strengthen our links with and position in the local community.”
