Amber Barrett played the first half as the Republic of Ireland women's national team lost to England in a Euro 2025 qualifier on Friday night.
Goals by Alessia Russo and Georgia Stanway, from a penalty, gave the Lionesses a 2-1 win at Carrow Road.
On a soaking night in Norwich, Milford woman Barrett started for Eileen Gleeson's Ireland.
Russo fired England in front in the opening moments, getting around Courtney Brosnan, the Ireland goalkeeper, to slot home.
Barrett forced Hannah Hampton into a save and at another stage almost forced the home 'keeper into a mistake on a high press.
Barrett was replaced by Leanne Kiernan at haf-time. It was another half-time substitute, Julie-Ann Russell, who pulled a late goal back. The Galway United striker fired home from close range.
St Johnston woman Tyler Toland was an unused substitute while Anna Patten played the full 90 minutes.
Patten qualifies for Ireland through both her maternal grandparents: Donald Coyle, a native of Falcarragh and Bridie Coyle, nee Conroy, who hailed from Lettermore in Galway and are the parents of Anna's mother, Paula Coyle.
Ireland are back in action on Tuesday when they host France at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
