The 18-year-old attacker has moved to the NIFL Championship outfit from Derry City.
The Falcarragh lad has been snapped up by Kevin Deery, whose squad contains a strong Donegal contingent.
Illies' Stephen Doherty moved recently from Finn Harps and the likes of Michel Harris, Fintan Doherty, Gabriel Aduaka and Brendan McLaughlin are also on board.
Last June, McGinty scored one of the goals on his Derry City debut, a 2-0 win over Cork at the Brandywell during which he came on as an 84th minute substitute.
In August 2022, McGinty signed his first professional contract at Derry on the same day as Drumkeen's Sean Patton, who is currently on loan at Finn Harps and recently had a trial at Portsmouth FC.
McGinty, who played his schoolboys football with Glenea United, moved to Derry City in early 2022 having previously been at the Finn Harps Academy.
