Donegal contingent helps Derry City to win over Shelbourne in FAI Cup quarter-final

Goals from Michael Duffy and Danny Mullen made the difference as Derry City defeated Shelbourne 2-0 to earn a place in the semi-finals of this season's Sports Direct Men's FAI Cup.

It is now just Derry with dreams of a double as they finally beat a stubborn Shels side they had previously drawn with on six previous occasions. Derry are four points behind Damien Duff's team in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division, with a game in hand.

Burt's Mark Coyle was skipper for the Dublin-based side, while Ciaran Coll from St Johnston and Ramelton's Ronan Boyce was a 41st minute substitute for the Candystripes, who will travel to Bohemians in the semi-final, with Wexford travelling to Drogheda United in the other on the weekend of October 6.
