New Donegal League manager Eamonn Sheridan
Former Rathmullan Celtic FC manager Eamonn Sheridan has been appointed the new Oscar Traynor manager for the Donegal League replacing John Francis Doogan.
The Donegal League’s dreams of winning the Oscar Traynor Cup for the first time since 1983 came to an end last March when they were beaten 3-2 at the semi-final stage by the Waterford District League.
Now following Doogan’s departure, Sheridan will take up the mantle as manager after he resigned as Rathmullan boss last August.
The ex-Finn Harps striker had been at the helm for nearly four years with Rathmullan, having taken charge in 2020 after the Covid-19 pandemic.

In his second full season, the team remained competitive at the top of the table for much of the campaign and made an impressive run to the Area Final of the Brian McCormick Cup, narrowly losing to Letterkenny Rovers in an intense match at Flagpole Field.
Last season, the Hoops continued to achieve solid results, finishing mid-table in the Donegal League Premier Division.
Speaking to Donegal Live, the Donegal League secretary Nigel Ferry thanked Doogan for his service to the Donegal League side while wishing Sheridan the best of luck in his new role as manager going forward.
