Anna Patten featured in the starting line-up as the Republic of Ireland Women’s National Team advanced to the Euro 2025 play-off round after a decisive 3-0 win over Georgia at Tallaght Stadium on Tuesday night.

This secured a 9-0 aggregate victory following on from their 6-0 triumph in Tbilisi the previous week.

Ireland's dominance was evident from the start. In the third minute, Kyra Carusa set up Julie Ann-Russell to score the opener, capitalising on a rebound. Carusa then netted the second goal in the 31st minute after a clever pass from Jessie Stapleton.

Katie McCabe, who later handed over captain duties to Denise O’Sullivan, missed a penalty shortly after, but Ireland remained in control.

The final goal came in the 55th minute when McCabe fired into the bottom corner following a well-worked corner.

Patten, qualifies for Ireland through her maternal grandparents - Donald Coyle, a native of Falcarragh, and Bridie Coyle, nee Conroy, who hailed from Lettermore in Galway. They are the parents of Anna's mother, Paula Coyle.

Tyler Toland, who started last week against Georgia was named on the bench with Milford native Amber Barrett.

Ireland now looks ahead to a two-legged play-off in December, aiming to qualify for their first-ever European Championship next summer.
