No weather worries for Carl McHugh as FC Goa go third in ISL

Goa FC had an impressive 4-2 win over Odisha

Carl McHugh and FC Goa have moved to third position in the Indian Super League with a 4-2 away win over Odisha at the Kalinga Stadium.

With the weekend’s sporting calendar here at home already decimated by the weather, McHugh and his teammates had no such worries as they closed the gap on the Leitirmacaward native’s former employers, Mohun Bagan near the top of the table.

McHugh won an ISL title with Bagan last season but the difference there now is back to seven points with Goa also having a game in hand.

Goa went in at the break 2-1 in front thanks to goals from Brison Deuben Fernandes and Udanta Singh Kumam.

Fernandes grabbed his second on 53 minutes while an Amey Ranawade OG helped make it 4-1 three minutes later.

Odisha grabbed a second late on thanks to Jerry Mawihmingthanga who finished with 10 men after Admed Jahouh was dismissed in injury time.
