Former Sligo Rovers, UCD, and Drogheda United player Jack Keaney
Cliftonville FC have confirmed the signing of former Drogheda United player and Donegal Town native Jack Keaney.
The 25-year-old defender joined the Reds just over two months after being featured in Drogheda United’s squad, which triumphed over Derry City in the FAI Cup Final.
Keaney made 28 appearances across all competitions in 2024, scoring once, though his opportunities became more limited as the season progressed.

Nevertheless, he was a part of the squad in Drogheda’s 2-0 victory against Derry City in the FAI Cup final and their 3-1 success over Bray Wanderers in the promotion-relegation play-off final.
A former youth international for the Republic of Ireland, the Donegal Town native began his career with Sligo Rovers, where he worked under Cliftonville assistant manager Gerard Lyttle.
During his time at Sligo, Keaney made 48 appearances before spending four-and-a-half years with UCD, where he captained the side and led them to promotion in 2021.
He spent a full season at Weavers Park in 2024 before departing during the winter transfer window.
Pending international clearance, Keaney hopes to celebrate his 26th birthday on Saturday by making his Sports Direct Premiership debut against Loughgall.
Keaney is also eligible to feature in Cliftonville’s BetMcLean Cup final against Glentoran on March 9.
