Carndonagh Community School’s U17 Girls football team emerged victorious in the Ulster Final last Friday, lifting the Ulster Cup after a thrilling 3-2 win over the Royal and Prior Comprehensive School.

The dramatic victory came with a last-minute goal during stoppage time, securing the title in a match that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

Goals from Maeve Doherty, Orla Ward, and captain Aoife Doherty sealed the win for Carndonagh, with Maeve Doherty’s performance earning her the Player of the Match accolade.

While the result was a tough blow for the Royal and Prior team, who had put in an incredible effort throughout the match, their journey this season has been one of remarkable success. Reaching three Ulster Finals and two All-Ireland Semi-Finals in the same calendar year is a tremendous achievement that speaks volumes about their talent and determination.

The Royal and Prior U17 girls fought with immense heart, showcasing their skill and resilience. Goals from Sally Lynch and Daisy Leeper were a testament to the squad’s quality and drive, with each player giving their all until the final whistle.
